Re: ANYONE HAVE A SPOUSE WHO REFUSES TO GET A GUN?

I'm surprised that no one even mentions respect for each others' individuality (freedom). If the finances allow, why the big issue? My DH buys what he wants, I buy what I want. Now, if one of us buys toys instead of paying bills that's another problem. But our discretionary income is, well, at our ...

Re: When do you start plants indoors??

For the tender stuff, like tomatoes, a few months at least. My neighbor starts them at the end of February and sets them out at the end of May. I start mine later.

Re: When do you start plants indoors??

I'll probably start my lettuce and spinach in the greenhouse in late March; mostly because of all the extremely low temps this year. Later start under the grow lamps for tomatoes, too, downstairs.

Re: Freezing Fog

Reb, this Yankee will weigh in but not in a bad way. We've endured horrendous winters before and will again. We're used to it. But I wouldn't wish it on anyone else and can understand the difficulties when your weather takes these unexpected turns. Stay safe. Never heard of freezing fog but we do ha...

Re: Most people do prep to some extent

I hate to disagree with you Photo, but i do. More people have only "this weeks" groceries, then you think. Just look at the news, How many times do you see a power outage and day 2 people are outside looking for some food bank & water assistance. I agree and even in a very rural area ...

Re: Methods Of Gun Theft

"Believe it or not, some people do leave their safes in plain view such as the living room, recreation room, family room, ect. I would never do that but some people think that just because they've got a big strong safe that their guns and all their valuables are secure and can't be stolen. Some...

Re: Methods Of Gun Theft

"Lots of gun owners might think they've taken good precautions but all too often those so called good precautions are all too easy to defeat. Contrary to popular belief, lots of those big sturdy looking gun safes can be forced open with crowbars and other tools. Keeping a gun safe in plain sigh...

Re: Methods Of Gun Theft

In the United States the easiest way to steal a gun is to pass a law that says You can not possess a gun you already own unless you register the gun then do not notify the gun owners they have to register! That makes it easy for the government to steal guns, but what Im talking about is other thiev...

Re: ATF and EPA quietly working on gun control with ammo ban

Oh, please... Allen West gets his information from Info wars. This guy is no more intelligent then Alex Jones...... Read this article carefully and you will see phrases that imply things could happen. Not that they are happening. This is basic yellow journalism 101. Make an implication instead of a...

Re: Most people do prep to some extent

I think you had me at keeping up with the Joneses which really means keeping up with the luxury items the Joneses may have, like that brand new car, larger home, in-ground pool, etc. The Joneses may have all that but don't have a generator to keep their fridges and freezers running during a power ou...

Re: Tolls in Maryland

The tolls in western MA were supposed to have been eliminated years ago but still exist. I don't see them going away but I do see other roads implementing tolls. If the tolls collected went directly toward highway maintenance then it's not so bad but like everything else these monies go in a general...

Re: Most people do prep to some extent

"However, what it really comes down to is that we're really no different than everybody else. Everybody wants to survive, whether they're preppers or not. The thing is, non preppers are all wrapped up in surviving in the non apocalyptic world, having enough money, being able to hold down a job,...
