Re: What would you do first?

A wood stove could be a quick prep, but not the best solution in the long run. With land and a large budget, it took me over two years to get my BOL halfway in order. I would prepare as best I could where I was and carefully develop my plan for a BOL location. There are hundreds of things to conside...

Re: Lessons from Hawaii attack warning

Much of Hawaii gets a great deal of rain, which could make the storm drains more contaminated than the surface. This is something no American city is not ready for and the few individuals that are, have been laughed at. Hawaii is more snowflake than California and will not learn one damn thing from ...

Re: Lessons from Hawaii attack warning

Go here to read all kinds of comments from folks in Hawaii: https://www.reddit.com/r/news/comments/7q67a1/emergency_alert_about_ballistic_missile_sent_to/?limit=500 I read someone reporting that people were putting their children down into the storm drains, because they had nowhere to go! What conc...

Re: Are you really prepared?

I used to think I had all the bases covered and honestly I am as well prepared as anyone I have ever met. A few years ago I was walking in the yard, hit a slick spot and did a perfect split. Great for a twelve year old girl in gym class, not so much for a guy in his sixties. Three months later I was...

Re: H3N2 Flu ... Pandemic Potential

Just one town, but it is going to be everywhere. FYI - Shreveport is ahead of most small cities as we have a Medical School and University Hospital. Flu outbreak swamps Shreveport hospitals "snip" SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - All hospitals in Shreveport are on diversion due to the high number o...

Re: Pandemic Prep: Is the USA Prepared for a Pandemic?

At this moment, every hospital in Shreveport Louisiana is on Diversion Override and holding Flu patients in their Emergency rooms. This is just a seasonal flu outbreak and not a pandemic. If we ever experience a pandemic, the last place you want to be is in ANY form of shelter, mass housing, or crow...

Re: Pandemic Prep: Is the USA Prepared for a Pandemic?

IMO NO. They have consistently over sold the effectiveness of the flu shots and the coverage has gone down every year. How are they going to ramp up to a pandemic when they can't cover the yearly problems. They will be swamped from day one. big pharma controls the FDA. They are only in for the mone...

Re: The Economy is not as Good as they would have us believe

It may seem like an oxymoron, these are the times great fortunes are made in the markets, but you need an exit strategy, experience, and monitor it constantly. Real diversity is the answer in every cycle. 30/40 years??? I have never held anything that long except farm land, real antiques, and metals...

Re: The Economy is not as Good as they would have us believe

You are missing the forest for the trees! The only factors that matter, debts / obligations and the amount of currency we have printed. Both are in the multiple trillions and growing. Then people wonder why asset prices are rising! Could it be that each dollar is worth less and the informed are desp...

Re: 2018 JANUARY - What did you do to prep this week/month?

The holidays are when I review my priorities and strategies. Once I started putting everything in writing, it all began to make real sense! I have met way too many folks getting ready for the big one without a thought for tomorrow. #1 is your health! It is the foundation of everything! #2 is your kn...

"snip" Overall, 25% of Americans say they have a great deal of confidence in the police, 27% quite a lot, 30% "some," 16% "very little" and 2% "none." The combined 18% who have very little or no confidence in police is the highest Gallup has measured to date. ...

Just think if it was not a prank call by some dip and in fact it was a hostage involved call were the hostage taker said he was thinking on setting the house on fire and as he exited the house the house burst out in flames killing all inside . Re: Swatting

On this we completely agree - but it is always in my best interest to be ready for anything and that includes untrained cops on a hormone rush. Some of the best people I know are in law enforcement, but that is not true for many of them. Swamp

Re: Entitled people don't follow instructions:
