Re: Lone Star Tick

The medical side wants to think this is something we just discovered, but I wonder - if humans are the disease and this is part of nature's immune system at work? There does seem to be many new and deadlier aspects in the great outdoors! Perhaps it is a reminder of who is in charge! Beta testing for...

Re: OK: lets Talk About the Nasty Stuff-Hygiene

Staph bacteria are all around you, and they may even be in your body right now. It’s speculated that around 15 to 40 percent of healthy people are staph bacteria carriers, which means that the bacteria can live in controllable numbers in a human host without causing any disease. They’re normally fou...

Re: "Mittleider Method" Anyone doing this?Is it really worth

I use this system in my greenhouse garden, it does work, but I feel it is too problematic and intensive for survival gardening. Deep mulch gardening is far simpler, less work, and can be used for larger scale and gorilla applications. I would suggest finding a copy of The Ruth Stout No-Work Garden B...

Re: OK: lets Talk About the Nasty Stuff-Hygiene

This thread is rather humorous and Sage is correct. Smelling like a human is not going to effect your health. Good hygiene is not about smelling nice! Using soaps and degreasers may actually decreases some of your natural protections and immunity. If the grid goes down, everyone is going to smell un...

Re: Who is the Authority on Prepping?

Great food for thought! While I maintain that there is no one expert, there is tons of good information and no reason to reinvent the wheel at every turn! You see both extremes all the time! Either somebody went camping a few times and they have all the answers or they feel prepared as they purchase...

Re: Who Will Be Your Doctor?

It must have been a wonderful life! More than half of children died before age five and if you lived to adulthood, your life expectancy was 35 - 40! It must have been the "magic" of all that native medicine and herbs! The fittest will do well with or without modern medicines, the rest - no...
