Re: Spreading Prepper Mentality---Pros Vs. Cons?

I am always amazed at all the wisdom of what you have to do now, while nobody knows what may happen, if anything will happen, or if anyone has been through it. It really depends of you, your skills, and where you live. Swamp

Re: Toilet Plume

Mythbusters was a pretty good TV show - but that is what it was. Considering how few people wash their hands, let alone properly wash their hands, I doubt a little arosol crap would make much of a difference. I don't wash my hands or flush in public restrooms like Walley World! I figure a little of ...

Toilet Plume

Just when you thought you were safe to check it out, Toilet Plume comes along! Sweet Dreams! Swamp [snip] There's a certain comfort in the toilet seat cover, the tissue-thin layer of grace between your bare behind and a piece of cold, dirty plastic. But what happens if you forgo the cover, boldly pl...

Re: Mayo Clinic to give preference to privately insured

DH just spent a few days in the hospital to treat an infection. He has name brand insurance, a good coverage. In the ER, I guessed 90% were not. If he could have gotten home sooner we could have skipped ER, so it was the Saturday evening crowd. Staff was overworked, waited 3hours for a room. When h...

Re: Spreading Prepper Mentality---Pros Vs. Cons?

You can lead a horse to water and you know the rest of that story! I no longer discuss the issue outside BASIC storm preparation, something anyone in this area should be doing. I have found it best to operate on two levels for my own well being and cover. I simple could not justify not helping my ne...

Re: Mayo Clinic to give preference to privately insured

The BEST facilities in this country and the rest of the world, do not take insurance. Their clients don't need insurance and prefer privacy. Nor are the services they receive billable to an insurance company! If you live in places like L.A., there are fully staffed mobile ER's and Day Surgery Units ...

Re: Online data collection and privacy

A wise man once said, "when more then one person knows, it's no longer a secret." This holds true on anything and everything. The Feds can put your life story on the head of a straight pin from birth to the death of a 100 year old and have space left over. You can't, I repeat can't keep a...

Re: Online data collection and privacy

While I am not an expert in the field, I know that everything is evolving and no system is 100% secure, nor do VPNs make online connections completely anonymous. A kernal based keystroke system recently did a job on an high end security firm that a friend works for. I would assume its system was hig...
