Tips and ideas on how to make the most of what we have....or what others have thrown away.

upcycling a microwave and toaster oven

Postby badmandant » Tue Oct 01, 2013 12:18 pm

I just dug up a old microwave and toaster oven while cleaning an area in my house out. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for upcycling and reusing both of them. I do not have any experience with electrical work, so it can't be too complicated (I would rather not be electrocuted or burn down my house lol).

for God's sake .... Nobody but nobody recommend the microwave as an EMP proof storage container ..... no matter how much it's been discounted somebody will be still repeating the old prepper urban legend ...

I use my microwave as a bread box, yogurt & keffir house, yeast proofer & dough rising place). Mice can't get in. Um, decoy safe?

Instructables has several projects with microwave ovens including making a welder.
Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.

Somewhere I saw a microwave used as a mail box.

Yeah, I saw the welder one, I would end up electrocuting myself if I tried that.
