Preparedness General Discussion

I have created an Excel Workbook for my inventory worksheets including Master Inventory, Go Bag, Car Kit, First Aid Kit, Grab & Go list, and an Order/Shopping list. I used some drop-down menus that can easily be edited to fit your needs.
I tried to upload them to drop.io, but it would not work as an Excel sheet. I couldn't find anyplace to post it as a spreadsheet, just a "picture". Therefore, send me a PM with your email address, and I will send it to you as an Excel attachment. This is an empty template ready for you to start adding your stuff.
If anyone knows of a way for me to upload it someplace as an useable Excel document, let me know.
try using Scribd. I use it for all my documents that I share. It's Free and seems to work well. Easy to upload and update a file if you need to! It's here: http://www.scribd.com/
This is a sample of what I put up: http://www.scribd.com/doc/19429297/Phot ... play-Areas
Thanks, ReadyMom. I am familiar with Scribd, but it appears that everything posted is in a pdf format. I have only downloaded, not uploaded, so don't know a lot about it and may be wrong. My goal is to give people the actual Excel workbook template so they can enter their own inventory without doing all the work to create it. Let me know if that is possible using Scribd. I appreciate your help.
I just tried uploading your spreadheets. (I didn't, just wanted to see what would happen.) While lots of stuff on there is PDF, it will recognize that you're uploading a spreadsheet and let you load it.

Thanks, Muzhik. I will try it later today and post it here if it is successful.
Have you tried GoogleDocs? See: http://www.google.com/google-d-s/spread ... readsheets
I know one of the other forums I'm on uses this to share an excel spreadsheet. -k
Yeah!! I tried using Scripd without getting it to accept the Excel formatting. GoogleDocs worked easily. I have even used it before when my daughter and I were planning her wedding. Duh. The only problem is that GoogleDocs spreadsheet does not allow drop-down menus. Therefore, I would still be happy to email the Exel version if people send me a PM with their email address. But for those who want to view the Inventory Spreadsheet Template, here is the link:

Along the bottom of the page you will find sheets for Master Inventory, Go Bag, Car Kit, First Aid Kit, etc.
Note that these sheets do not include a list of my inventory.
Thanks for your help, ReadyMom and Muzhik.
MM, The more prepping lists I see, the less prepared I feel.lol Thanks for the lists u mailed me!!! Kinda feel like I'm heading towards "on-track" again!

MrDan, I am glad that you feel like you have some traction. Glad I could help, even a little.
Yep, I love lists. There are few things more satisfying than being able to take a pencil (or pen) and scratch off an item. I wonder, has anyone attempted to make an all-inclusive master prep list? I know there a few out there, but they seem to be missing some items or differ depending on the location of the prepper. I for one, would be interested in a list categorized by location (city, suburb, rural) cross referenced with disaster duration (48 hours to 1 week to ?) This could then be extrapolated to the number of persons in the survival party, 1-2, 3-4, etc. Maybe something like this exists already?
Personally, my preps are focused toward a Katrina-like disaster, rather than a end of the world scenario, with the exception of peak-oil. Which reminds me, I think there's a "World without oil" thing on the National Geographic channel tonight. I'll have to check it out.
There are some good lists over at my EHP site. Try here:
