Which beans do you like to eat, which do you not like to eat. White, black or pinto beans, or other.
I don't know which ones I prefer as we are not avid bean eaters. But in desperate times we will need a steady source of protein, so we would learn to like beans. That said I am looking for some opinions on which kinds of beans others like to eat/store the most. Thanks :0)

I DO like most beans...white (Navy and Great Northern), black, Pinto, Cranberry, etc. The ones I DON'T like are Limas (they just taste nasty) and soybeans (since I have thyroid problems, they are a BIG no-no!)

You can't go wrong with pinto, red, or navy beans.
Maybe it's just me, but,...I just can't stand lima or butter beans. I'd rather eat dirt! Or liver! Or anchovies! I don't know nothin bout them fish eggs those rich folks eat--- probly not. Or hundrd-yr eggs....

I'm with Icefire, dislike Lima. Garbanzo/chickpeas give me serious heartburn. I have lentils in log term storage but I'm not a big fan. I've made mock sausage patties with them fair results. Culturally speaking I'm partial to pigeon peas (Puerto Rican Rice). White beans make an awesome white chili. Last year an Italian gf introduced me to pickled cannellini beans very addictive.
Navy Beans (ehow) - Navy beans, also known as Yankee, Boston, haricot blanc, pearl haricot and fagiloi beans, are small, cream color, oval beans about the size of a pea. They are called navy beans because the U.S. Navy has served them to troops as a cost-effective source of protein since the mid 1800s.

I put a lot of navy (pea) beans through my pea shooter when I was a kid. Now I eat them in bean with bacon soup, ham and pean soup and Yankee bean soup (or marrow beans). Also on my bean list are black beans, pinto beans and kidney beans. the only way I eat limas is baked limas in sweet brown suar tomato sause and lots of bacon.

You shoulda been at Great Lakes boot camp in 68. We even had beans for breakfast.
