fruits & vegetables

has anyone had super luck growing a particular vegetable or fruit here in mississippi -- one that really has high yields? if so, what variety is it? alot of plants can have high yields, but not all are condusive to our high humidity and hot hot weather.

Red Queen: I can give you the code, but first you must do something for me.

Okra can grow through just about anything. I have had luck with potatoes, tomatoes (as long as they are disease resistant varieties), squash, peppers, bunching onions, cabbage, broccoli, cucumbers, greenbeans, sweet peas, black eyed peas and a few other things. I find that eggplant, sweet peas, and peppers do better when planted in the middle of the summer and yield more than when planted in March.

not sure this is in the right topic but here it is, please feel free to move if needed.

I have a good PDF file on how to make your own Earth Box (tm) planters, easy construction process and cheap, I plan on building about twelve to fifteen for my container garden and as it is a rainy indoor day here on the coast I am going to get my two boys involved and construct the first two this afternoon, if anyone is interested in the directions I would be more than glad to email them to you or if I can figure out how I will post them on line, if anyone has a suggestion on where or how to make these available please let me know.
