Prepping Newbie

Postby tchester » Sun Mar 25, 2012 8:36 am

Hello, my name is Tyler, my wife and I want to become prepared for the economic meltdown that seems inevitable.

I am graduating with a BS in Appropriate Technology minor in Sustainable Development - Agroecology. I'm up to speed on all renewable energy systems on the market and have farming experience.

So here we are, we've started some casual prepping by taking advantage of some of the super coupon deals. So far we have a year's supply of toothpaste and mustard... (haha). But we're working on it... There's so much that needs to be done, I'm here to find out how everyone else is approaching the task. I'm definantly interested in visiting the LDS cannery in Greensboro if anyone has any details or good contacts there, I would appreciate that information.

Cheers,

Tyler Chester

Welcome aboard!

It sounds like you could have a lot to contribute here!

On getting started, start with the basics everyone needs. Food & water. There's a good primer in the threads here -

Taking advantage of coupons is a good strategy, one many preppers use. Keep that up. Also gardening and canning if you can.

Also if you get the chance, stop by your state forum and say hello there as well. Best way to network with others.
Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
