I stumbled across this website during a Bing search on "Preppers Networks". I am originally from Mississippi but I was raised in California. I ended up in Ohio after my tour of service in the Navy Sea Bees as a result of looking for work in late 1982. I met and married my wife of (going on) 29 years in early 1984. My interest in prepping and self reliance began a few years ago when we went through that major power outage across the state. I was one of the luck ones in Pataskala that went without power for only 27 hrs.. Many around us including my place of work in New Albany were without power for a week or more. We had more than enough supplies for getting through that 27 hrs.. But many others went without for weeks on end. Well, you all know all about it... That's when I began to research emergency preparedness for this region. I've always loved the outdoors and camping and hiking so it sort of makes sense to know the "what, when, and where's" of self reliance in case of emergencies and/or the collapse of gov. and/or economy. I hope to find a lot of relevant information here. This was my first stop, so I'm not sure what I'll find in the next few hours of reading...LOL And of course, if I find something of relevance that has not be brought up, I will share as well.
Welcome aboard from West Virginia. I was in New Albany Friday
(had to take my wife to a hospital there) Really nice area, lots of
people with money by the looks of their homes.
Yeah, in that area anyway. There's a lot of $$$ in New Albany. The company I work for (EMH&T) is the largest Civil Engineering Firm in Central Ohio. So it stands to reason, the area they chose for the Corp. Office.
BTW...FYI...I've had more responses in this group over the last 24 hrs. than I have in a weeks time in other groups I've been affiliated with. I think I'm gonna like this!
Hello from Buckeye Lake area...And welcome.
Hope to meet you at the next meet and greet in Westerville. My son is currently in the Sea Bees, stationed in Wa. State for now. You will find this a good and informative site.
