New to Prepping

Postby Mosby_Ranger1 » Tue Nov 14, 2017 4:24 pm

Hi, Just really started Prepping and wanted to see if there are people who do this in my area. I live in the Augusta/Evans area of Georgia and was really surprised to see that there are a lot of people here. I have seen those disasters and I do not want my family to suffer so I have started down this path. Right now collecting food MREs and Mountain House, looking at different type of shelters and the pros and cons of Bugging in or Bugging Out.

Welcome from a fellow GA prepper - and yes, there are a lot of people in the CSRA who are prepping.
There's a lot of information here. Happy to see new folks.

Welcome from Washington!

Certainly there's a lot to do when one is starting out. I suggest starting small with each necessary element (food, water, shelter, energy, security, etc) and then expanding into layers from there.

Stock up on foods you actually eat; that'll give you insurance against many common problems and it's food you're already going to buy you just bought two or three instead of one.

Good luck!
