I agree with terp about the solution to prairie dogs. However, ferrets can be vicious little critters towards most pests, even cats and dogs. Their scent apparently is enough to make most small mammals leave an area. When we had ferrets they ruled the roost over all our other pets.

My brother in law has a cat that catches several a day. he didn't plan it that way but the cat turned out to be a mole hunter. You can buy spring loaded traps to use. They have sharp teeth and kill the mole when they trip them.

Thank you tigger2. Nice of you to find these sites. The general (husband) turn the water on them today. Try the poison and repellents. No luck. we have the ultrasonic devices, and the wind mill device, no luck. There are 2 wild cats that hang around here maybe the moles are why they are here. We need to get rid of the grubs. The general ( Hubby) is going to try and flood them out.

Do you grow castor bean plants? My great aunt got rid of them by dropping a few castor bean seeds down each hole she could find. Castor beans are very toxic. Also, I used to live in an area where tobacco was grown. A neighbour would get the tobacco stalks after the leaf harvest, mulch them and put them on his lawn over winter. The nicotine in the stalks killed the grubs and that kept the moles away.

here is a few things that work.. speremint gum place in hole.. they eat it and die.. exlax.. eat it poop silly then die. Moth balls.. drives them out... but makes yard smell like moth balls... and black lab dog... digs up moles kills them then places them on the porch as trophies... down side is the crater that is caused from this... Prarie dogs vs 22 = hours of fun... now if your problem of gophers or ground hog.. then it is 22 vs ground hog = good eating...they are vegetarians.

Hey macydaddy, Do you have any recipes for them ground hogs. I have hunted them for a friend who had a problem with them in his pasture (cows breaking legs) but have never tried them in the cooking pot.
