That is a tough spot you are in WIseWoman. I had similar difficulties with an Ex. That is why she is an ex.

Its just been my husband working for a lot of years now. I had to quit work to take care of a sick mentally challenged daughter and my mom, just couldn't work any longer.

I felt bad for a long time and even took my SS at 62 shouldn't have so I would have my own money. He kept saying its our money not mine
and that made me feel better. If there are that many people in your family I would be more worried about him being able to afford hobbies then prepping at this point. I hope you have what you need for your family on a daily basis. I would also stop growing my family if you
still our, then look at preps a bit more down the line. And I would prep what I could as you would need a lot of food back for a family that
size. Do what you can and I sure would be worried about enough food back for now, at least you are doing something.
