Is anyone actually surprised?

We pay people to sit on their butts and eat potato chips. Marketing of comfort foods at all time high. Children are not allowed to go outside and play. Parents have actually been arrested for letting kids play in the back yard unsupervised. People live in their phones. Texting will become the new Olympic sport.

AND I'm sitting here instead of being out cleaning up the garden this am. Just thinking of manual labor makes me want to take a nice long nap.

It will only get worse! The average American's diet is horrible to say the least! A healthy diet may be simple, but it is difficult to follow and very expensive for most people. Most of the "good" advice is useless! Grow your own, buy fresh, and buy healthy, is pi** poor advice for most people.

Most people do not have a garden and cannot afford fresh or healthy! Cooking from scratch works for some old people or Mormon housewives, but not so much for the rest of us.

I try very hard to eat healthy on a regular bases, but even with gardens and no money problems, it is a pain in the rear! I am at work and did not have time to cook before coming to work. Dinner will be the best I can find at the cafeteria for whatever that's worth! Swamp

Yes, I'm impressed with DIL and what she is doing with the 2 year old. I babysat this evening so she and another little
girl we know could go to the rodeo, hubby took them. DIL has never seen one said she always heard about them in
Russia and wanted to go.

Anyway getting back to the topic, she is doing a good job with little guy. This afternoon he wanted cutie oranges. I cut
him a tomato up, bell pepper, and he loves cukes, and even raw potatoes. She makes soups too. He does like a dish
with hamburger, stewed tomatoes, and macaroni. He wiil not touch a McD's hamburger, good for him I hardly will either.
But he wants vegetables and fruits to eat. She eats constantly but like she said small quantities, she is 5'3" and weighs
114. I hope this continues, hubby tried to give him ice cream, he doesn't really care for it, I told him don't. He will learn
about all the crap food here quick enough. Yes, people are eating cheap crap, processed foods with nothing but fillers
in them and very little nutrition. I see young women that are going to suffer from high blood pressure, severe obesity,
and all kinds of related disorders. You see them on oxygen and everything else in the doctors office and hear all the
tales of woe. I want to say so badly, quit putting the damn fork in your mouth and eat real food. Now I don't have
much room to talk as I am also 20 pounds over weight. It's a hard battle to fight but man we need to, as a nation
we are killing ourselves. I forget the percentage, but large numbers of young people can no longer qualify for the
military because of their weight. And that's a real shame in and of itself.

But in a famine a bunch of those folks could live off the "fat of the land" for some time I'm thinking. I know not very

People don't move like they once did. Of the Americans that do work, I would guess that most of them have sedentary jobs. Even those who are on the move, (like nurses) still don't do hard labor like farmers used to do many years ago. Heck, I grew up in farm country and after school every day kids came home, changed their clothes, and headed out to the barn for milking. How often does that happen anymore??

I highly recommend the books The Obesity Code and The Complete Guide to Fasting. I have been intermittent fasting for a couple of months now. It really isn't as hard as I thought it would be and it really is freeing to know that you can (and should) go many hours and days without food....it's how we are genetically programmed. It's not unhealthy and your blood sugar will not bottom out to nothing and you won't hit the proverbial wall either. Do yourself a favor and just TRY IT! It will come in very handy to know how your body will react now and not wait until something happens where you many not have access to food for a few days. Of coarse, there are a few people who shouldn't fast without a doctors consent.....look into it.

Much of the nutrition advice given in the past 50 years has been complete bunk.....as evidenced by our fat nation. Plus, doctors just want to treat the symptoms, not the cause. Put the fork down!!!!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was planned. There's no better way to control people than to make them sick and then control their healthcare (or lack thereof). Obamacare anyone? How many Americans are slave to diabletes meds, heart meds, or narcotics???? And now even Uncle Sam knows what meds you are taking thanks to medical electronic records. Oh, how convenient! How many obese people have bad backs, then need pain meds, then get more sedentary, then need more pain meds, then eat more, then need more pain meds, then file for disability, then need more pain meds.......vicious cycle that has got to stop! But who's going to stop it? These folks are easily controlled and it is all done legally.
