Fish Antibiotics

Postby DrBones » Sat Oct 15, 2011 3:01 pm

Hi all,

I've just posted an article you might find interesting on stockpile-able antibiotics on our blogsite at www.doomandbloom.net.
I list my reasons for recommending this option as one that may help you keep your loved ones healthy in a collapse situation.

Thanks!

I was just telling my wife we need to stock up on antibiotics. Great info will be heading to the petstore shortly!

If you do a search on APN, you will find that there are several posts on this subject already with a lot of good info and links in them.

A friend of mine in college had to buy Fishmox (Amoxicillin) because without heath insurance it was too expensive to buy from the pharmacy. Got him right over the strep throat he had (and he didn't grow any gills either much to our collective disappointment).

If I've missed an earlier post, sorry. Wondering if there is a listing somewhere of shelf life for the various antibiotics as well as essential oils?

Along with the antibiotics it would probably be good to have a list of infections each kind would treat. I worry about taking the wrong antibiotic or taking it at the wrong time. I have all kinds of physicials guides and nurses guides, but it is hard to determine whether something is bacterial (and WOULD respond to an antibiotic) or viral and wouldn't. As an example: If a person has an upper respiratory infection, how do they determine if it is bacterial and if it is, what antibiotic do they take? I know amoxicillin is an antibiotic I've taken for this type of infection, but how is the dose determined? Do you take 250mg once a day or twice a day and why? Or, do you take 500mg once or twice a day and why?
I have read a lot on what antibiotics are best for different infections but it still seems really complicated.

Hi Homesteader,

I understand how confusing this medical info can be. Here is the first article in a series of 4, explaining how and when to use antibiotics:
